Staff

We know an incredible curriculum is nothing without a talented and experienced staff to deliver it. That’s why we’ve done everything we can to ensure your instructors and counselors are the best in the business. edmore072408-405

All our Digital Movie Making, 2-D/3-D Animation and Rock Out Video Instructors are recruited for their experience and passion for teaching digital media art to middle school youth. Camp Edtech Instructors are trained live and on-site at Zeum in animation. Zeum has been teaching these types of courses at the museum since 1998. That’s only about 250,000 youth, families, teachers and community organizations that come through their doors…every year! In addition to their own professional experience, Instructors also complete video training by Camp Edtech’s own movie production curriculum designers.

In addition to quality, safety is of equal importance. That’s why we have CPR/First Aid certified staff members are present on-site at all times and background checks are performed on all staff during our hiring process.

Robert has over five years of experience working with children of all ages, both in the classroom as a para-educator and in the community working with special needs children. Robert is an avid musician and looks to foster creativity in every child he works with. He also enjoys spending time at the beach, riding his bike through Golden Gate Park, and making people laugh with goofy jokes.

“I am SO excited to be back at Edmo this summer! I have some large shoes to fill by stepping into the Camp Director position this summer, and I am looking forward to keeping the Edmo traditions alive as well as starting new ones! I feel that this camp is not only a great opportunity for the campers to continue learning during the summer, but also is a great opportunity for growth as an educator and personally. I feel extremely lucky to be a part of the Edmo family and can’t wait for the summer!!”

MORAGA — Kelly Donlon

kelly-1

Kelly is entering her fourth summer on the Edmo Team. In 2007, she was a stand out Science Instructor, and for the last two years has rocked the Edmo Vibe as the founding Camp Director of our Oakland/Piedmont site. This summer she’s making the switch to our Moraga site and can’t wait for another amazing summer! This year Kelly is also working as our Training Manager. Kelly graduated with a degree in Liberal Studies and Math from Chico State. She then went on to earn her elementary and secondary teaching credentials. During the school year, she teaches high school math in Martinez, but loves to spend the summer with the younger kids at Edventure More. She also has worked in several after school programs, summer camps and elementary school classrooms over the past 10 years.

“I am so excited to be back at Moraga this summer. Camp is going to be so awesome this year! I am counting down the days until camp!”

CORTE MADERASeth Dahlgren

Seth Dahlgren is celebrating his second year working as a camp director with Edmo. After a prolific summer as director in Mill Valley he is moving on to the Corte Madera location. Seth has a long history of working with Youth Development outside of Edmo. And during his many years working with all grade levels he has instructed in a variety of subjects including music, comedy improv, and mathematics. Seth is known around camp for his impromptu singing and dancing, silly voices, eagerness to get outside and play, and of course the infamous Ukulele!

“I caught the Edmo Vibe pretty bad last year, and I’ve been waiting on pins and needles for the Summer to arrive again. I’m eager for a new summer with exciting things to learn, experiments to perform, movies to make, and art projects to create. This years themes are particularly tantalizing. Super Spy week promises some serious surprises, and we’ll do some amazing things during Underwater Wonders. Being a huge Astronomy and Sci-Fi geek I’m personally very excited for Cosmic Creations week. I’m excited for all the surprises in store for the staff and the campers this summer. 2010 is going to be one to remember.”
